Board Meeting Minutes for April 22, 2019

At Mocha Lounge 4635 E Dupont Rd, Fort Wayne, IN

Board members in attendance and constituting a quorum were: 

Angie Marquardt- President

Josh Davis-Treasurer via facetime

Courtney Smith-Secretary

Jen Lee-Board Member

Board members absent: 

All members were present and accounted for.

Others Present:

There were no guests present at this meeting.

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 10:20 am by President Angie Marquardt.

Prior Meeting Minutes Approval:

President Marquardt signed and approved the previous meeting minutes.

Presidents Report:

President Marquardt updated the board on the status of the cooking classes. The board was given several dates and times for potential classes. President Marquardt proposed a motion to have classes on June 14th and 28th from 10-12, July 12th from 10-12, and July 24th from 1-3. The board approved and the motion carried. Currently all classes will be held at Gateway Woods, but the board will be looking into other locations such as Love Church and Safe Families. Class topics were also discussed. The first months classes will have an emphasis on cooking while the second month is still to be determined.

Special Event:

President Marquardt also updated the board on the progress on the organizations next big event the Talent Show. She reported that the event could be hosted at Come 2 Go Ministries for $1800.00. She made a motion for the board to proceed with acquiring this location for the event, and getting potential dates for when it can be held. All board members agreed to the motion. Motion carried. The board also decided that that the registration fee would be $25 and an entrance fee of $5. There will be a junior talent show as well as an adult talent show with a cash money prize. There was a discussion on what would need to be acquired for the event such as an MC, judges, and decor. Advertisement and initial registration for the event will be introduced at the Princess Tea Party in May. The event will be held in either September or October depending on the availability of the venue. President Marquardt discussed the possibility of holding a Clean Wine and Craft night at the Urban attic sometime in June. The board agreed to this proposal and President Marquardt will be looking into when it can be held and where the money raised should be allocated to. 

Treasurer’s Report:

Treasurer Davis had to leave early and was not able to give his report at this meeting.

Miscellaneous Discussion:

President Marquardt discussed the need to be more diligent with the social media marketing and advertising. The board members agreed to each take a week each month to post on all social media sites. Secretary Smith will send out a calendar each month to the board members indicating which week they will do as well as any events for the month. President Marquardt also proposed to the board the possibility of attending the CAFO conference in Kentucky this year. Board member Lee said she would like to attend as well as President Marquardt. The event is to be held in May and President Marquardt will look into the cost and registration.

Upcoming Meeting:

The next board meeting will be held on May 27th at Mocha Lounge on Dupont Rd.

Adjournment:

President Marquardt moved to adjourn the meeting at 11:38 am. All approved, none opposed. Motion carried.
